In this episode of the Wide Awake Podcast I spoke to Kieron Reddy who is a Warden that works at one of the most dangerous prisons in the world, Pollsmoor Prison.

Pollsmoor is a maximum security prison that holds some of South Africa's most dangerous criminals. The prison is known for having horrific living conditions and is the home to one of the most feared gangs in the world, the Numbers Gang.

The prison was designed with a maximum capacity of 4300 offenders and the current inmate population is over 7000.

In 2007 Pollsmoor was featured in a documentary called Ross Kemp On Gangs where the famous interview with gang leader John Mongrel took place.

In this interview we discuss how the prison has changed over the years, the interview with John Mongrel, Kieron's experience with gang violence, corrupt prison guards, Notorious gangster Turner Adams, prison rehabilitation and much more...

Here's an easy way to set up automatic camera and scene switching with Ecamm Live!
