"Jamaica, Land We Love" is the national anthem of Jamaica, officially adopted in July 1962. It was chosen after a competition from September 1961 until 31 March 1962, in which, the lyrics of the national anthem were selected by Jamaica's Houses of Parliament. When Jamaica was granted independence on 6 August 1962, "Jamaica, Land We Love" continued to be officially used as the national anthem.

Prior to the declaration of the independence of Jamaica, Jamaica was made a West Indies Federation province of the British West Indies, still under the rule of the United Kingdom. The nation entered the federation under the rule of Premier Norman Manley, who also made various constitutional amendments to allow the process of decolonisation to rapidly take place. These amendments also allowed the country to have more self-governing powers and permitted the formation of a cabinet led by a premier. Premier Norman Manley's participation in the West Indies Federation was unpopular and led to the independence of the country on 6 August 1962, and the national anthem selected in July 1962 was officially used from that date.

Egypt Sends Weapons To Somalia, Tensions Escalate With Ethiopia | Firstpost Africa

Tensions between the Horn of Africa neighbours Ethiopia and Somalia are worsening further. Ethiopia has raised concerns as two of its rivals- Mogadishu and Cairo forge closer partnerships. Egypt has delivered its first military aid to Somalia in more than four decades. This comes after both nations signed a security pact earlier this month. Egypt has also offered to send troops to a new peacekeeping mission in Somalia, to fight Islamist terror group al Shabab. The new mission is due to replace an African Union peacekeeping force in January which also includes up to 10,000 Ethiopian troops. However, Mogadishu had threatened to kick out the Ethiopian troops due to a dispute over a port deal Ethiopia signed with Somalia's breakaway region Somaliland in January. Keywords: Moving from the USA 🇺🇸 to Ghana 🇬🇭 was a huge change! The cost of living 💰 in Ghana was much lower, and I had to adapt to Ghanaian food 🍲 after missing American food 🍔. Accra's traffic 🚗 was a challenge, and I had to get used to the Ghanaian weather 🌞. The language barriers 🗣️ were tricky, but English is widely spoken. I loved the Ghanaian hospitality 🤗, and the expat community 🌍 made me feel welcome. Life here was different, but socializing 👫, exploring new places 🌍, and adjusting to the job market 💼 kept things exciting. Despite some relocation challenges ✈️, I embraced the experience of living in Ghana 🏡 with my family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦.

Looping Video Audio and Overlays Independently in #EcammLive

This video answers a question that was asked in the Ecamm Live Facebook group about how to loop audio, video and overlays independently of one another in Ecamm Live.

Of course this can be done in an external editor, but the question was if it was possible in Ecamm Live and the answer is yes, with one small additional step in quicktime to join the video clips first!

One thing I forgot to mention!! When dragging the video file into Ecamm, it can either be the scene source or an animated overlay.... in this case we want the latter - Animated overlay. We can actually import it as such from the outset by going to the overlays menu in the menu bar and then selecting "Add animated overaly".

On Jan. 26, 2021, President Joe Biden signed four executive orders designed to address racial equity in the United States. With one particular action Biden hopes to right the historical wrongs Black folks have faced when it comes to housing and homeownership in this country.

Per a White House statement, “He will direct the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to take steps necessary to redress racially discriminatory federal housing policies that have contributed to wealth inequality for generations.”

And that’s why the story of what housing and other living conditions look like for many Black Americans is pretty bleak. It’s by design.

woke up early, the soft light of dawn just beginning to filter through the curtains. There was something magical about the air that morning—calm, inviting, and full of promise. I slipped on my shoes and stepped outside to take a walk, eager to soak in everything around me.

The cool morning breeze swept gently across my face, carrying the earthy scent of the land and the subtle fragrance of tropical flowers. As I strolled through the quiet streets, the distant sounds of birds chirping created a peaceful symphony, as if nature itself was waking up with me.

Everywhere I looked, there was beauty—palm trees swaying lazily in the breeze, red dirt paths weaving through green fields, and bright, colorful murals painted on walls that told stories of history and pride. People were just beginning their day, some sweeping doorways or setting up shop, exchanging greetings with neighbors. Their smiles were as warm as the rising sun.

I paused for a moment, closed my eyes, and took a deep breath. It wasn’t just air I was breathing—it was Ghana. It was history, culture, and spirit all wrapped into one, filling my lungs and heart with gratitude. In that quiet walk, I realized I wasn’t just a visitor—I was part of something far greater, connected to the land and people in a way I couldn't fully explain.

That morning, Ghana spoke to me—not with words, but with the gentle breeze, the rhythms of daily life, and the feeling of belonging. It was a walk I’ll never forget, a moment that will stay with me long after I leave this beautiful land.
