Margaret Allison, also known as "Babe," was born on September 25, 1921, in Plum Branch, South Carolina. In August 2006, she was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the En Sound Music Awards for her contribution to gospel music. A few days later she surprised me with a phone call to express her gratitude for the honor. She passed away on July 30, 2008, in Philadelphia. Over her lifetime, she was notable for her involvement in a band for 64 years before her death. Her memory will forever stay with me, as she was a force to be reconned with.

everyone know that Elon helped rigged the election...
today I went from Port Authority of NY/NJ to Tom's River, then on to Atlantic City. Come along with me
woke up early, the soft light of dawn just beginning to filter through the curtains. There was something magical about the air that morning—calm, inviting, and full of promise. I slipped on my shoes and stepped outside to take a walk, eager to soak in everything around me.
The cool morning breeze swept gently across my face, carrying the earthy scent of the land and the subtle fragrance of tropical flowers. As I strolled through the quiet streets, the distant sounds of birds chirping created a peaceful symphony, as if nature itself was waking up with me.
Everywhere I looked, there was beauty—palm trees swaying lazily in the breeze, red dirt paths weaving through green fields, and bright, colorful murals painted on walls that told stories of history and pride. People were just beginning their day, some sweeping doorways or setting up shop, exchanging greetings with neighbors. Their smiles were as warm as the rising sun.
I paused for a moment, closed my eyes, and took a deep breath. It wasn’t just air I was breathing—it was Ghana. It was history, culture, and spirit all wrapped into one, filling my lungs and heart with gratitude. In that quiet walk, I realized I wasn’t just a visitor—I was part of something far greater, connected to the land and people in a way I couldn't fully explain.
That morning, Ghana spoke to me—not with words, but with the gentle breeze, the rhythms of daily life, and the feeling of belonging. It was a walk I’ll never forget, a moment that will stay with me long after I leave this beautiful land.
The leader of the main Islamist rebel group in Syria has met the former prime minister to co-ordinate the transfer of power.

After a month-long Canada Post strike amid labour disputes with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon, with the help of the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB), has ordered the national mail service to resume its services next week.
"I am intervening today to make sure both parties have a solid foundation to resume negotiations and reach a mutual agreement as quickly as possible," MacKinnon said during a press conference on Friday, detailing the "timeout."
The Liberal minister further revealed that Canada Post's and CUPW's existing collective agreements will be extended until May 22, 2025, with an official report from an "Industrial Inquiry Commission" (IIC) — containing detailed findings and recommendations on a path forward — being required one week earlier.
"It is the government's responsibility to maintain industrial peace, and Canadians must be assured that their government will take all necessary actions to protect them," MacKinnon said. "It is not a decision I take lightly, but in this situation it is the right one," he added.
The strike saw approximately 55,000 Canada Post employees off the job and on the picket lines since Nov. 14. The result? Approximately 1 million packages being delayer per day ahead of the holiday season. MacKinnon says the negative impacts have been felt most by small businesses, charities, rural communities and Indigenous peoples.

"Jamaica, Land We Love" is the national anthem of Jamaica, officially adopted in July 1962. It was chosen after a competition from September 1961 until 31 March 1962, in which the lyrics of the national anthem were selected by Jamaica's Houses of Parliament. When Jamaica was granted independence on 6 August 1962, "Jamaica, Land We Love" continued to be officially used as the national anthem.
Jamaica (/dʒəˈmeɪkə/ (listen)) is an island country situated in the Caribbean Sea. Spanning 10,990 square kilometres (4,240 sq mi) in area, it is the third-largest island of the Greater Antilles and the Caribbean (after Cuba and Hispaniola).[11] Jamaica lies about 145 kilometres (90 mi) south of Cuba, and 191 kilometres (119 mi) west of Hispaniola (the island containing the countries of Haiti and the Dominican Republic); the British Overseas Territory of the Cayman Islands lies some 215 kilometres (134 mi) to the north-west.
“Jamaica, Land We Love”
Comp.: Robert Lightbourne
Lyr.: Hugh Sherlock
“Eternal Father bless our land,
Guard us with Thy mighty hand,
Keep us free from evil powers,
Be our light through countless hours.
To our leaders, Great Defender,
Grant true wisdom from above.
Justice, truth be ours forever,
Jamaica, land we love.
Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica, land we love.
Teach us true respect for all,
Stir response to duty's call,
Strengthen us the weak to cherish,
Give us vision lest we perish.
Knowledge send us, Heavenly Father,
Grant true wisdom from above.
Justice, truth be ours forever,
Jamaica, land we love.
Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica, land we love.”
