In 1993 Lieutenant James Lechner, a member of the 3rd Ranger Battalion, was selected for a top secret special operations task force being sent to Mogadishu, Somalia, to capture the insurgent leader Mohamed Farah Aideed. In early October, after conducting a number of raids in the city, the Task Force is called upon to conduct a daring daylight mission into the heart of Aideed's territory. During the raid, one of the Black Hawk helicopters is shot down and Lechner and his comrades are soon caught up in the fiercest combat involving US forces since the Vietnam War. Deep in the enemy's stronghold, the small group of Rangers and special operators now find themselves fighting not only to rescue the downed helicopter's crewmen, but also to save their own lives.

Germany & Somalia Agree to Deport Undocumented Somalis From Germany | Firstpost Africa

Germany has struck a deportation pact with Somalia. Under the deal, Germany will deport undocumented Somali immigrants back to the East African nation. This comes after Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met German Chancellor Olaf Scholz earlier this week. The leaders have agreed to boost the number of Somali migrants deported without legal status. A total of 65,000 Somalis currently live in Germany and Chancellor Scholz said the pact will only affect a handful of people convicted of serious crimes. While the Somali government has agreed to receive the migrants it also urged Germany against forced deportation. Watch the video for more details.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has approved the withdrawal of Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso as member states, effective January 29, 2025. This decision was made during the 66th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Commission Authority of Heads of State and Government in Abuja. The three countries will officially cease to be members, but they have a six-month transition period to reconsider their exit, from January 29 to July 29, 2025. If they choose to rejoin during this time, they will be welcomed back. This move aligns with Article 91 of the revised ECOWAS treaties, which emphasizes the sovereignty of member states. Joining us to discuss the implications of this decision is global affairs analyst Ejike Ekpa.

Looping Video Audio and Overlays Independently in #EcammLive

This video answers a question that was asked in the Ecamm Live Facebook group about how to loop audio, video and overlays independently of one another in Ecamm Live.

Of course this can be done in an external editor, but the question was if it was possible in Ecamm Live and the answer is yes, with one small additional step in quicktime to join the video clips first!

One thing I forgot to mention!! When dragging the video file into Ecamm, it can either be the scene source or an animated overlay.... in this case we want the latter - Animated overlay. We can actually import it as such from the outset by going to the overlays menu in the menu bar and then selecting "Add animated overaly".
