woke up early, the soft light of dawn just beginning to filter through the curtains. There was something magical about the air that morning—calm, inviting, and full of promise. I slipped on my shoes and stepped outside to take a walk, eager to soak in everything around me.
The cool morning breeze swept gently across my face, carrying the earthy scent of the land and the subtle fragrance of tropical flowers. As I strolled through the quiet streets, the distant sounds of birds chirping created a peaceful symphony, as if nature itself was waking up with me.
Everywhere I looked, there was beauty—palm trees swaying lazily in the breeze, red dirt paths weaving through green fields, and bright, colorful murals painted on walls that told stories of history and pride. People were just beginning their day, some sweeping doorways or setting up shop, exchanging greetings with neighbors. Their smiles were as warm as the rising sun.
I paused for a moment, closed my eyes, and took a deep breath. It wasn’t just air I was breathing—it was Ghana. It was history, culture, and spirit all wrapped into one, filling my lungs and heart with gratitude. In that quiet walk, I realized I wasn’t just a visitor—I was part of something far greater, connected to the land and people in a way I couldn't fully explain.
That morning, Ghana spoke to me—not with words, but with the gentle breeze, the rhythms of daily life, and the feeling of belonging. It was a walk I’ll never forget, a moment that will stay with me long after I leave this beautiful land.

As a child, I had three dreams. First, I wanted to sing and record music—and I did that. Second, I aspired to become a radio DJ—and I proudly achieved that as well. The third dream was to visit Ghana, a land I always felt drawn to. I can now say with joy that I finally made that dream a reality, and the moment I set foot on Ghanaian soil at Kotoka International Airport in Accra was indescribable. It was a moment of fulfillment, gratitude, and connection to something much bigger than myself.
Ghana welcomed me with open arms and a spirit of hospitality that felt like coming home. The vibrant city of Accra buzzed with life—colorful markets, joyful music, and delicious street food creating an atmosphere of celebration. From there, my journey unfolded like a beautiful tapestry, rich with history and cultural significance.
Beyond the landmarks, it was the people who left the deepest impression. Their warmth, pride, and vibrant spirit radiated through every conversation, every smile, and every handshake. I felt deeply connected to their joy and resilience.
Ghana nourished my soul in ways I never imagined. This journey was not just about crossing off a lifelong goal; it was about embracing my heritage, finding meaning in the past, and celebrating life in the present. Dreams do come true—and Ghana was the dream that made all the others feel complete.

Margaret Allison, also known as "Babe," was born on September 25, 1921, in Plum Branch, South Carolina. In August 2006, she was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the En Sound Music Awards for her contribution to gospel music. A few days later she surprised me with a phone call to express her gratitude for the honor. She passed away on July 30, 2008, in Philadelphia. Over her lifetime, she was notable for her involvement in a band for 64 years before her death. Her memory will forever stay with me, as she was a force to be reconned with.

Beneath the bloodshed and destruction, a hidden war rages—one not just for land, but for the immense mineral wealth buried beneath Ukraine’s soil. With an estimated $15 trillion in lithium, titanium, uranium, and rare earth elements at stake, the battle isn’t just between Russia and Ukraine—it’s a global fight for power, technology, and economic control.
